him an idea as to the Stand

Deed that would be likely to prove acceptable to the Government – I believe
it was in consequence of the difficulty which Father Burghignoli's legal adviser
saw in the above, extract, that the preparation of the Trust Deed has not since proceeded with and that direct
application
is now made to the Colonial
Secretary ignoring the correspondence which continued after 13th Febry and
urging
once more that a general promise
be given that a conscience clause will be accepted, before the proposed Fresh Deed or indeed the proposed clause itself is
properly drafted.
6. As regards the Minor points
raised by Father Burghignoli's letter of 15th January, 1883, I confine myself to these observations.
